About Lessons

 

 

Mikami Piano Studio offers in-home piano lessons for a wide range of students—from children at the beginner to intermediate/advanced levels to adult beginners and intermediate learners.
 Lessons are available in Naka and Midori Wards, Yokohama. 

Each lesson is carefully tailored to the student’s level and pace, helping them develop their skills steadily and comfortably.

we provide thoughtful and supportive instruction to help you achieve your goals.

Lesson Schedules & Fees

 

Lessons are generally held four times per month.
Fees vary depending on lesson length. 

  • 20 minutes × 4 lessons/month: ¥6,000
  • 30 minutes × 4 lessons/month: ¥8,000
  • 45 minutes × 4 lessons/month: ¥12,000
  • 60 minutes × 4 lessons/month: ¥16,000

Lesson length will be determined based on each student’s age, level, and motivation. 
 

If you notify us of an absence by the day before the lesson, no cancellation fee will be charged. In such cases, we will offer a make-up lesson or adjust the following month’s tuition. If you cancel on the same day, 100% of the lesson fee will be charged as a cancellation fee. In this case, no make-up lesson or tuition adjustment will be provided. Please feel free to contact us regarding extended absences, such as during summer holidays. 

Lesson Location

 

 

Lessons are generally conducted as in-home visits at the student's residence. Service is available in Naka and Midori Wards, Yokohama. For adult male students, lessons will be held at a rental studio. In this case, the studio rental fee will be the responsibility of the student. If parking is not available at the student's residence, an additional fee of ¥400 per lesson will be charged to cover nearby coin parking. 

 

Recitals

We hold recitals approximately once every two years.

Holding a recital every year can mean that a large portion of the year is spent preparing for the performance, which may sometimes limit overall musical development.
 At the same time, performing on stage is an important experience and a valuable opportunity for growth.

After each recital, students show remarkable progress, gaining confidence through their success and taking a big step forward in their musical journey.

Participation in piano competitions is also available upon request.

Tomoko Mikami

 

Composer, arranger, and keyboardist
Kawai Piano Teaching Grade 6 Certified
 

She began studying piano at an early age under Noriko Kawamura.
From her teenage years, she has been actively involved in band performance and music production. She has created over 1,000 tracks for karaoke and ringtone content, and has produced approximately 4,000 music box arrangements. Her work also includes background music (BGM) and sound effects (SE) for games and apps, including titles such as New Jinsei Game (PlayStation), Great Battle Full Blast (PSP). In addition to her production work, she is active as a keyboardist and manipulator, providing live and studio support for various artists.
